We have had the privilege of working with Sembcorp Industries for more than a decade, supporting various branding and marketing communications programmes under different entities of the group, as a leading energy, water, marine and urban development group with operations across five continents worldwide.

Empowering Energy for the Future

Concept Lab Communications “fuels passion and drives possibility” with our latest video production for Sembcorp Power. To showcase the local MNC’s participation into the recently launched Open Electricity Market, our Creative Director drove the conceptualization, filming and editing of a 1.5-minute production as the organisation’s new brand manifesto.

This was a key communique for Sembcorp Power – a brand conversation piece to be used on their official YouTube and Facebook platforms in a concerted effort to convey a fresh focus of the global integrated energy player within the newly opened energy market. In the long run, retail players in the electricity market will provide commercial as well as residential home owners the options and flexibility in their electric purchases. Naturally, we look forward to promoting Sembcorp Power – Energy that Makes a Difference.

Enlivening Sustainable Industrial Spaces

This was a one-of-a-kind programme by Sembcorp Industries. Having bagged the “Best Industrial Developer” title by Euromoney Liquid Real Estate Awards in 2013, Sembcorp Industries were ready to attract potential manufacturers in the region to set up their facilities at the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP), a significant, sustainable, integrated urban development comprising industrial parks as well as business, commercial and residential spaces.

We were stoked for the opportunity to be the design agency conceptualising and rolling out a unique direct mailer project for the VSIP. Using the concept of boarding passes, we designed each direct mailer as a pass to represent an industrial park. The tone conveyed was exclusive with artistic nuances of a much anticipated destination in Vietnam.

As for Sembcorp’s other integrated industrial parks that were high tech and technology centric were captured using a series of infographics where more complex benefits were broken down visually for effective recall.

Refreshing Icon for Going Green

Our work with Sembcorp had actually started much earlier in 2001 with the birth of Toric the Frog as a mascot branding for Sembcorp Waste Management. The mascot creation was a visual representation of Sembcorp Waste Management’s work and also serves as the instantly recognisable beacon for the awareness to go green. Toric the Frog adorned Sembcorp’s fleet of vehicles used for waste management in Singapore for ten years, thronging through our neighbourhoods for almost a decade, before the green icon was refreshed visually with a more contemporary look and a bright smile.
